~ Snoke sentencing Rey's execution |
Supreme Leader Snoke is a major antagonist of the Skywalker Saga, specifically the sequel trilogy. He first appeared as the overarching antagonist of The Force Awakens, the secondary antagonist of The Last Jedi and a posthumous antagonist of The Rise of Skywalker.
History
Looking for BB-8
He at first appears calling Kylo Ren and General Armitage Hux and talks with them about an awakening in the Force. Hux introduces the Starkiller Base superweapon to Snoke, telling him it can destroy the Resistance and their supporters which are the Republic. Snoke agrees, and orders him to oversee preparations. Hux leaves the room, and Kylo Ren stays inside. Snoke then tells Kylo Ren about the awakening, and informs Kylo Ren that the droid the First Order is after, is located inside the Millennium Falcon, owned by his father, Han Solo. When Kylo Ren said Han means nothing to him, Snoke tried to convince Ren that even him hadn't faced such a test.
Snoke's fury
Later, Kylo Ren captures Rey and tries to read her mind with the Force, but she resists him. Kylo seeks Snoke for help and tells him that the girl is strong with the Force, and that he would need his master's guidance to get the map to Luke Skywalker. When Snoke asks for the droid, Hux appears and states that Kylo had gave up looking for the map the moment he decided that the girl was all they needed, so the Resistance may have the droid and the map already. As Hux exits the room, Snoke orders Ren to bring Rey to him.
The destruction of Starkiller Base
Hux prepares for retreat and tells Snoke that the base is collapsing. Snoke orders Hux to leave the base at once, and to bring Kylo Ren to him.
Betrayed by Kylo Ren
After Hux loses another battle against the Resistance, Snoke gets upset, and uses his hologram to call him. Snoke punishes Hux for his failure but later Hux shows him another scheme against the Resistance, and Snoke seems pleased with his ideas. After that, Snoke calls Kylo Ren "a child in a mask", as he begins to doubt about Ren's capacity, sensing that he is unbalanced since Han's death. Meanwhile, Hux uses a new tracking device to locate the Resistance's starships, and plots to destroy the Resistance by surrounding the Rebel ships and attacking them as they struggle their way to a mineral planet.
Later, Kylo Ren brings Rey to Snoke. Snoke uses the force to take the Skywalker's lightsaber from Rey. Snoke reveals to both Rey and Kylo Ren that he has manipulated their bond to get to Skywalker. Snoke tortures Rey and then orders Kylo Ren to kill her. However, Kylo had developed strong feelings for Rey during their connections, so he saves her killing Snoke instead. Kylo and Rey then unite to fight Snoke's Praetorian Guards together.
Afterwards, Kylo offers Rey a place by his side to rule the galaxy together, but she refuses and escapes. Ren then takes Snoke's place as the new Supreme Leader of the First Order.
