Ra's al Ghul, also known as Henri Ducard is the main antagonist of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight franchise, appearing as the main antagonist of Batman Begins and the posthumous overarching antagonist of The Dark Knight Rises.
He was the former leader of the League of Shadows and the father of Talia Al Ghul (Miranda Tate). He also mentored Bruce Wayne for a brief period, and after their interaction he became the infamous Dark Knight known as Batman. Throughout the movie he uses a decoy to hide his true identity. It isn't before the third act that Henri Ducard reveals himself as the true antagonist, and the real Ra's al Ghul. He was portrayed by Liam Neeson.
