Plankton is the main antagonist of the SpongeBob Squarepants franchise. 

Role in the SpongeBob movies

Plankton is the main antagonist of The SpongeBob SqaurePants Movie and the anti-hero of it's 2015 sequel, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.

In Sponge Out of Water, Plankton was also known as Plank-Ton.
