The Mountain Sharptooth is the main antagonist in The Land Before Time VIII: The Big Freeze.
Biography[]
The Mountain Sharptooth appears at the beginning of the film sleeping when a much smaller Sharptooth unknowingly lands on top of its nose, waking him up. He opens his mouth and tries to bite the dinosaur, but it runs and the Mountain Sharptooth chases him. The Mountain Sharptooth turning his attention to a different dinosaur that scurries up the tree. He turns his attention to a hadrosaur, but the hadrosaur jumps into a pool of water and swims away while the Mountain Sharptooth slips and falls.
Later in the film, the Mountain Sharptooth chases Ducky after she sees his footprints. He sees the rest of the gang and starts to chase after them. The Mountain Sharptooth scares Mr. Thicknose, but gets hit by the children with the snowballs. He starts to climb up the hill to reach the gang and gets knocked out, thanks to a giant snowball they roll at him.
The Mountain Sharptooth appearing to catch the gang by following the footprints. He attacks the gang again and Mr. Thicknose manages to speed up the hill to save the children. Just as the Mountain Sharptooth is catching up to them and prepares to attack, Mr. Thicknose makes it up the hill and pushes a log off the hill to help the children. The Mountain Sharptooth trips on the log and rolls down the hill to pushed off a cliff to his death.
Trivia[]
- Due to the following reasons, some fans have speculated that this individual may be Red Claw, who appears in the television series.
- They both have similar skin colors. The reason as to why his coloring is slightly off may be because of the winter lighting, as other characters have had different colors in the winter than in the other seasons. However, for this to be true, the Mountain Sharptooth in the opening narration must be a different individual.
- He may have been scarred due to the log thrown by Mr. Thicknose, likely on one of its sharp branch stumps.
- However regardless the measures, Sharpteeth are highly durable even to where a fall will not kill them. In the case with this Sharptooth, its fall was broken by the layers of snow.
- Some people have believed that Mountain Sharptooth isn't a villain, although he is a villain because he's actually a sentient predator. Most of the sharpteeth are sentient predators which they aren't normal animals at all.
