Herod Antipas is a supporting antagonist of "Jesus Christ Superstar". He is the king of Galilee whom Jesus, under Pontius Pilate's orders, is brought over too. Excited to see Jesus in person, Herod tempts Jesus to perform miracles for him in exchange for believing in Him and letting Him go free. When Jesus doesn't answer, Herod sends him back to Pilate, declaring him a fraud, while trying to throw rocks at him.
Herod isn't seen for a while anymore, until after a regretful Judas hangs himself. He then laughs at first when Jesus is given 39 lashes, but ends up looking unhappy before the last one is given.
In this film, Herod is played by Josh Mostel.
