Biography[]

Gorr was a mortal extraterrestrial and vengeful galactic killer who sought to bring the extinction of all gods. Once a devout, kind-hearted, loving and peaceful being, he lost his faith in the gods after the death of his daughter Love and the gods laughed indifferently at his suffering. From there, he went on a murderous rampage by slaughtering and killing gods one by one while seeking Eternity so he can grant his wish to dispose of all gods. Gorr's conquest eventually brought him to New Asgard, whereupon he confronted Thor, the Asgardian God of thunder and lighting, and his allies, consisting of Korg, Valkyrie and his girlfriend Jane Foster, who has become the Mighty Thor thanks to her wielding Thor's warhammer Mjölnir, which had now reassembled itself sometime after the Blip and Thanos' defeat.

Gorr required Thor's battle axe Stormbreaker so he can provide the power of the Bifrost to reach Eternity, kidnapping the children of New Asgard in the process so he can lure Thor to him. During their following confrontation in the Shadow Realm, Gorr stole Stormbreaker, and proceeded to seek out Eternity, only to be later confronted again by Thor and the Mighty Thor, who smashes Gorr's sword. Gorr manages to reach Eternity nonetheless, but was convinced by Thor to wish not for the extinction of all gods, but for the resurrection of Love instead. Without the Necrosword, Gorr slowly starts to die from the effects of the sword, but ultimately leaves his daughter to be raised by Thor before he dies peacefully.
