|~ Davy Jones|
Captain Davy Jones is the main antagonist of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. He appears as the main antagonist of Dead Man's Chest and the upcoming sixth film, one of the two main antagonists (alongside Lord Cutler Beckett) of At World's End and a cameo antagonist of Dead Men Tell No Tales. He is loosely based on the old seaman's legend of Davy Jones' Locker.
Not much is known about Jones's childhood. He was once an honest sailor and a decent man until he met the Sea Goddess named Calypso that promised that she would give him immortality to be with her forever but at one condition: he should have become the captain of the Flying Dutchman and taking the souls to the afterlife and she promised that at every ten years when he can go on land she would be there to wait him. Jones agreed but when he came back on land ten years later she was nowhere to be found. Heart broken and stuck with a job he chose just to be with her, David manipulated the Brethren Court to imprison her forever in her human form. However deep down he still loved her, so David, since he's immortal, cut his heart off his chest and locked him in a chest that he hides from the rest of the world. Now evil and murderous, David renamed himself "Davy Jones" and became the Dark Lord of the Seven Seas deciding to stop carrying the soils to the Underworld but instead recruiting them in his crew to give them more suffering as he thought that every person should suffer as much as he did. However abandoning his duty caused his curse to turn him into a monster; his head would become the head of an octopus, his left arm would become a lobster claw, his left leg would become a crab leg while one of his finger would become the tentacle of an octopus.
Years later he would meet for the first time Jack Sparrow when he tried to steal a magical clock to use it to go back in time and prevents himself from becoming the captain of the Flying Dutchman and even tries to kidnap the kid which leads to their first encounter. However Jack accidentally ruined that opportunity when he found it first and gave it to Tia Dalma (Calypso in her human form) which was the cause of them becoming arch nemesis.
Despite their hatred towards each other, Jack was so desperate when he lost his beloved ship that he had to make a debt with Jones even knowing his evil nature; Jones raised his ship from the dephts of the sea but 5 years later he should join his crew. Jack agreed but he never actually intended to respect the deal as he wants to be free. Meanwhile Jones continued to kill innocent sailors and pirates for fun.
